A half-day symposia at Aalto University School of Engineering
Thursday November 12, 2015, 1.30-5pm

In 1997 the US Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in adopted the requirement that engineering graduates should have “the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context”. Since then several initiatives worldwide have been introduced to augment the training of engineers with perspectives from the humanities and social sciences. The symposia will discuss how some leading technical universities has met this challenge and explore the possible role of humanities in the future of engineering education.
